Twisted Tie is a Korean office BL series about a controlling boss and his obedient employee. The main character works for a perfectionist who criticizes everything he does. One rainy night, they're the only ones left at the office. Since it's too late to head home safely, his boss offers him a place to stay. As they get comfortable around each other, their boundaries become unclear. Both men can feel there's serious sexual tension in the air.
As one of the raunchiest Korean BL dramas, Twisted Tie is packed with steamy scenes. If you love hot man-on-man action in business suits, this series is for you! The two leads have passionate chemistry and seem so comfortable with physical intimacy. Unfortunately, the actual story is a toxic mess. The plot is full of ridiculous nonsense, while the characters have zero depth. I'm ashamed to admit that I only enjoy it because of the smut.

Dojin is a controlling boss. Sunwoo is his obedient employee.

Kang Dojin is a team leader at a commercial interior design company. He helps high-end clients create luxurious spaces for their corporate buildings. Known as a perfectionist, Dojin has high standards. He's particularly harsh toward Lee Sunwoo, a rookie whose design plans aren't always well thought out. Whenever Sunwoo makes a mistake, Dojin scolds him in front of everyone. He also keeps making Sunwoo redo his work. Nothing is ever good enough for this demanding boss.
The other employees think Dojin is being way too tough on Sunwoo, who's still new to the job. However, Dojin doesn't consider inexperience a valid excuse. Their clients aren't paying any less just because an employee is a rookie. Besides, Dojin believes Sunwoo will never improve if he doesn't learn from his mistakes. His coworkers still feel sorry for Sunwoo. In the break room, they talk smack about their impossible-to-please boss. Surprisingly, Sunwoo defends Dojin. He actually appreciates the harsh criticism because it helps him learn. Huh? His colleagues can't understand why he's siding with the guy who keeps yelling at him.
One afternoon, a weather alert warns that a massive thunderstorm is coming that night. Dojin kindly lets his employees leave work early. Well, everyone except Sunwoo! The poor rookie has to stay behind and revise his design for an urgent project. He works past midnight before finally finishing everything. His workaholic boss has also stuck around to approve the changes. With the project complete, Sunwoo now has another problem. How the hell is he supposed to get home? It's pouring outside. Finding a taxi at this hour might be impossible.
Dojin invites Sunwoo to spend the night at his apartment.

Initially, Sunwoo plans to spend the night at a nearby sauna complex. However, Dojin has a better suggestion. Why not stay at his apartment, which is only five minutes away? Sunwoo tries to refuse this awkward invitation, but his boss won't take no for an answer. Fine, off they go to Dojin's place! Once they're alone, Sunwoo starts to get nervous. Two men going home together in the middle of the night? Is this a booty call!? Sunwoo suddenly wonders if his boss wants to hook up with him.
During an intimate moment, Sunwoo makes the first move and leans in for a kiss. Whoa, not so fast! Dojin stops him before their lips can touch. He reminds Sunwoo that they need to maintain professional boundaries. Mortified, Sunwoo apologizes for misunderstanding. Dojin insists he isn't bothered, but now he knows his employee has romantic feelings for him. After this embarrassing rejection, Sunwoo tells himself to stop getting carried away. His boss only offered him a place to stay because of the bad weather. That's all! Don't go imagining anything naughty!
After a shower, Sunwoo steps out and notices that Dojin has changed out of his work clothes. Instead of his usual suit, the boss is now lounging around in a bathrobe with a glass of red wine. Dojin invites Sunwoo to join him for a drink. As they settle onto the sofa, Sunwoo notices that his boss's robe has slipped open slightly. He can't resist sneaking a peek at Dojin's body. Dojin catches his employee checking him out and teases him. He moves closer until their faces are only inches apart. Wait, is this a signal? Sunwoo gathers his courage and goes in for another kiss…

Twisted Tie Review
Review
Drama Review Score: 6.6

Twisted Tie is SEXY! Wanna know my biggest weakness? Hot men in business suits. This 18+ BL series understands my priorities. For almost two hours, I get to ogle gorgeous businessmen who take off their clothes and do freaky things in bed. I'm having a wonderful time! My enjoyment comes from pure lust, which makes it hard to write this review. How do I explain my feelings intellectually? Some people watch BL dramas for thoughtful stories. Me? I just wanna see an office employee stick his dingaling into his boss's butthole!
Twisted Tie gets really explicit! Every episode is packed with steamy man-on-man action. Wow, these sex scenes are borderline pornographic. It's not full-on porn, but this is easily one of the raunchiest Korean BL dramas. Dojin and Sunwoo are two shameless perverts who treat their workplace like a sex dungeon. Washroom stall? Office chair? Even under the freaking desk!? Anywhere they go, they seem to be horny 24/7! Some moments are especially kinky, like when Sunwoo takes a bite out of Dojin's leg. WTF!? The finale also blesses us with a glorious threesome. One evening, three guys, and a whole lotta holes to fill.
Dojin's actor (Ko Tae Woon) is a hottie! My god, that BODY! Every time he takes off his clothes and shows off those divine pecs, I wanna thank the heavens. Hallelujah! He has great chemistry with his co-star (Kim Do Hyun). During their kisses, Taewoon knows how to put his tongue to good use. Their steamy make-out session in Episode 1 is my fave. Wow, the couple just lets loose and goes at it like there's no tomorrow! Twisted Tie is packed with risqué scenes, but neither actor seems shy about physical intimacy. Their confidence makes every steamy encounter even sexier.
As much as I love all the naughtiness, the actual story is a toxic mess. Twisted Tie starts as a sleazy office romance between a predatory boss and his weirdly obedient employee. Their power dynamic feels so icky! To make matters worse, Dojin is an asshole who yells at Sunwoo for being unprofessional. Um, hypocritical much? That's pretty rich coming from the creep who grabs his colleague's balls during office hours. Yet, Sunwoo won't stand up for himself. He's written like a mindless bimbo who only cares about getting laid. Ugh, both leads get on my damn nerves!
Episode 3 introduces a disturbing storyline. Dojin orders Sunwoo to sleep with a client to save their contract. WTF??? What kind of business deal requires you to have sex!? Why would Dojin agree to pimp out his own employee!? It's so gross to treat Sunwoo's body like a bargaining chip. Worst of all, Sunwoo actually goes along with this outrageous request. OMFG!? The whole situation feels like some contrived nonsense that you'd expect from badly written porn. Nobody's decisions seem believable. The story just needs any excuse to make the characters have a threesome.
If I'm judging Twisted Tie purely on its story, it deserves a failing grade. The plot has no substance. The characters have zero depth. Half the series is toxic nonsense, while the other half is just raunchy sex scenes. Yet, I'm not proud to admit that I enjoyed all the man-on-man action, especially those steamy moments in the finale. I see two hot guys kissing half-naked, and that's all it takes to win me over. Can I justify giving Twisted Tie a decent score? Nope, but IDGAF! The couple's physical chemistry is SO HOT that it somehow makes this trashy BL drama watchable.
Summary
Trashy story
Twisted Tie is 50% toxic nonsense and 50% raunchy sex scenes. The story is full of unrealistic scenarios and characters who make the dumbest decisions. It feels as trashy as a badly written porno.
Raunchy romance
While Dojin and Sunwoo's office romance is toxic, their man-on-man action is hot! As one of the raunchiest Korean BL dramas, this series delivers passionate kisses and countless steamy moments.
Steamy acting
Looks-wise, Dojin's actor (Ko Tae Woon) gets an A. But acting-wise, both leads are mostly average. They have incredible physical chemistry. I love that they're comfortable with steamy scenes.
Happy ending
Twisted Tie has a happy ending. Dojin and Sunwoo have a sleazy threesome in the finale. It's icky, but they move on afterwards. I secretly enjoyed all the steamy moments in the finale, hehe~
Sleazy artistry
Twisted Tie is so obsessed with sex that it feels like a cheap porno pretending to be a BL drama. The sleazy series makes me feel embarrassed about enjoying it. BTW, I hate the AI opening credits.
66%
Twisted Tie is a trashy 18+ BL drama with a terrible story and a toxic office romance. Don't expect any depth, but the man-on-man action is stupidly hot. Each episode is packed with steamy moments!
