Sin and Love is a Korean BL series about a police officer who crosses paths with his ex-boyfriend. Recently, the main character has returned from years of overseas training. He wants to focus on his law enforcement career, even though his new supervisor seems sketchy. During a police raid, the protagonist reunites with his high school ex, who now runs a shady nightclub. He suspects that his former lover is secretly working for a powerful criminal.
After watching Sin and Love, I'm begging its studio to stop making these awful BL series. The plot is complete gibberish. I never know what the hell is going on with these make-believe cops. Worse, the story gets so disturbing. It's weirdly obsessed with violence and abuse. The actors are stuck fighting against badly written material, while the cheap uniforms and sloppy production make everything look cheap. Even the kisses feel underwhelming.

Sung Ho focuses on his law enforcement career.

Sung Ho has spent the past five years training in the United States. The program was supposed to last ten years, but he decides to head back home to South Korea early. Once he returns, Sung Ho is eager to jump straight into his law enforcement career. He wants to work right away. He meets his new coworker, Min Ho, who helps him settle into the job.
Sung Ho's new supervisor is Hyukjae, a mysterious senior officer who expects everyone to follow his orders. However, Sung Ho quickly notices something weird about his boss. Hyukjae may have authority, but he doesn't behave like a respectable police officer. For starters, he's having an affair with his subordinate, Min Ho. The two aren't even that discreet about it. Sung Ho has caught them fooling around at the office. During one particularly kinky encounter, Hyukjae takes off his belt and asks Min Ho to whip him with it.
Later, Sung Ho joins a police raid on Gangnam Palace, a nightclub with a shady reputation. The place is known as a hotspot for drugs and prostitution. Its owner is Sehyun, who just happens to be Sung Ho's ex-boyfriend. Back in high school, they were so sweet together. Then, Sehyun suddenly disappeared and cut off all contact. He didn't even show up at the airport before Sung Ho left the country. Sung Ho assumed their relationship was ancient history, so imagine his shock when his ex suddenly appears during a police raid.
Sung Ho reunites with his ex, who's working for a criminal.

Sung Ho and Sehyun don't waste time before reconnecting with a kiss. Yep, the feelings are still there! However, Sung Ho has some major questions about what happened to his ex. How did sweet Sehyun end up running Gangnam Palace? It was hard to picture him as a "future crime lord" back in high school. Sung Ho wonders whether there's more to the situation than it seems. He suspects Sehyun may be working for a more powerful criminal.
As it turns out, Sehyun has secretly been working for Hyukjae all along. He used to be a police officer himself until his career was in serious danger. Hyukjae offered him a deal. If Sehyun spent five years undercover, his boss would forgive the past and let him return to the force. Since then, Sehyun has worked his way deep into the criminal world and even become the owner of Gangnam Palace. Unfortunately, pretending to be a crime lord has taken a nasty toll on him. Somewhere along the way, Sehyun developed a drug habit that he can't get rid of.
Hyukjae is a corrupt cop who loves controlling Sehyun. He constantly manipulates him, knowing Sehyun is desperate enough to do anything to get his police job back. Hyukjae uses him as a pawn while carrying out his own sinister plans. After reuniting with Sung Ho, Sehyun wants out of this arrangement so he can be with his ex again. He begs Hyukjae to release him from their deal. Too bad Hyukjae enjoys playing puppet master way too much. He keeps abusing his authority and messing with everyone's lives simply because he can.

Sin and Love Review
Review
Drama Review Score: 2.6

Dear SEEK Media, please stop making BL dramas. I'm a concerned citizen writing to you after suffering through Sin and Love and both seasons of Tide of Love. You're now responsible for three of the worst series I've ever watched. You've inflicted enough pain. It's time to pack up and find another way to make money off BL fans. Sell some merchandise! Create a magazine! Hell, open a cafe! Whatever you do, please don't unleash another BL drama on us. The world is a bad enough place without Sin and Love making it even worse.
Can someone explain what Sin and Love is about? I sat through four hours of this nonsense, and I still have no freaking clue. From what I can gather, the main characters are police officers… There's an evil cop who tortures everyone else… And that's my entire understanding of the story. The plot is complete gibberish. Every episode is filled with incoherent nonsense. Occasionally, there's some fake police drama. Look, Evil Cop points a gun at that guy's head! Or let's throw in a pointless scene where someone lights a cigarette and starts smoking… When the series runs out of ideas, the characters just randomly kiss to fill the time.
Sin and Love is full of disturbing content. This series glorifies physical violence, so the characters constantly hurt each other. Punches get thrown recklessly. Guns are pointed irresponsibly. And what's with all the choking? It treats putting your hands around someone's throat like a sexy power move. In Episode 7, Evil Cop forces everyone to strip, kiss, and take drugs. I'm so disgusted. These scenes are gross as hell. Sin and Love feels like an excuse for someone to act out their sick abuse fantasies on screen. Am I watching a BL drama or just ten episodes of torture porn?
Sin and Love isn't even sexy. The cheap production makes everything less attractive. If you were hoping for some erotic gay police fantasy, prepare to be disappointed. The characters kiss a lot, but their physical intimacy never gets particularly wild. Sadly, the make-out sessions are underwhelming. Sung Ho's actor (Kim Hyun Seo) looks uneasy whenever kissing his partner. His lips are sealed. My theory? He knows he's filming trash, so why bother putting in the effort? He's here to take off his shirt, suffer through a few awkward kisses, and collect his paycheque.
Sehyun's actor (Jung Myeong Cheol) is the most comfortable performer in this mess. He seems to know the story is nonsense, yet he's willing to have fun with the material and be a little theatrical. Hyukjae's actor (Kim Seong Hyuk) also tries very hard, but I don't think he's the right fit for Evil Cop. Even though he keeps making these smug faces, he isn't intimidating enough to pull off such an outrageous villain. Sorry, I'm not shaking in my boots! As for Min Ho's actor (Jung Hyun Woong), his character gets the least material out of everyone. He hasn't left much of an impression.
Sin and Love doesn't even try to make its police setting believable. For starters, those uniforms look so fake! They remind me of the cheap costumes that strippers wear while pretending to be cops. Even the labels are a mess. Why does it say "Police" on the front but "Security" on the back? Pick a profession! The sloppy production makes me feel like nobody gives a damn about quality. This studio has been polluting the BL industry with shit like Sin and Love. Aren't you embarrassed about making total garbage!? Please, just put us out of our misery and call it quits!
Summary
Incoherent story
The plot is complete gibberish, filled with random police drama that makes no freaking sense. Even worse, the series glorifies violence and seems obsessed with torturing its characters.
Unsexy romance
For a series that tries so hard to be provocative, Sin and Love is tame when it comes to physical intimacy. While there are many kisses, one of the leads looks uncomfortable locking lips with his partner.
Unconvincing acting
While Sehyun's actor (Jung Myeong Cheol) tries to have fun with this material, everyone's performances feel amateurish. Evil Cop isn't intimidating enough. The romantic chemistry is also unconvincing.
Happy ending
Sin and Love has a happy ending where Evil Cop get locked up behind bars. Sehyun and Sung Ho kiss, of course… They never do anything else. I'm just glad I can stop watching this mess!
Cheap artistry
The police uniforms look like stripper costumes. The production makes no effort to create a believable setting. Everything looks so tacky that I wonder if anyone at the studio cares about quality.

Sin and Love is one of the worst BL dramas I've ever watched. I hate the incoherent story and the gross scenes where the characters get tortured. Dear SEEK Media, stop creating these garbage series!
