Kiss Kiss SXX is a Korean BL anthology series with eight short stories. Each drama is separate and features a different romance. Most are sweet, like the students who bond over origami or the pair of friends who get close during a group project. Other episodes have mature themes, including a couple who agrees to be friends with benefits and coworkers who roleplay as lovers. The last story is quite different and follows the life of an assassin.
As an anthology series, Kiss Kiss Sxx tries to juggle eight different short stories. Most of them are too short to matter, and you're usually left watching characters kiss before you even know who they are. Only a couple of the stories have potential and some genuine chemistry. Yet, they get buried under a lot of boring filler. It's frustrating because the promising plots could have been great full-length dramas if they weren't crammed into this format.

Kiss Kiss Sxx Review
Review
Drama Review Score: 6.1

Kiss Kiss Sxx has eight different romances, but let's be honest, most of them are bad. Some are way too short and wrap up in fifteen minutes before anything even happens. Others have such boring plots that they feel pointless or forgettable. Only Story #4 and Story #8 show any potential, while the rest aren't worth your time. Instead of doing an anthology, Kiss Kiss Sxx should have focused on the two best storylines. If they had turned those into full eight-episode seasons, they might actually have two solid BL dramas.
The series begins with Story #1 (Raise Me?), where Business Guy hires Freelancer Guy to look after his plant. Honestly, it's as boring as it sounds! Both episodes feel like nothing is happening, and the leads barely know each other before they randomly kiss. I was left completely underwhelmed. Story #2 (Folding? You!) is sillier. One of the characters is so obsessed with origami that he becomes a walking caricature. His backstory? Origami. His personality? Also origami. The best part is when the guys kiss through a sheet of origami paper. Everything is so campy and ridiculous that I secretly enjoyed it.
Story #3 (Sweet Mischief) gives us some eye candy. Sunwoo's actor (Lee Jeong Uk) looks sharp on camera, especially with those expressive eyes. But oh man, the love interest is annoying! I don't like how he keeps teasing his friend, which comes across as mean. After three unremarkable romances, I was getting bored with Kiss Kiss Sxx. Luckily, Story #4 (Sleep Around, Still Mine) revives my interest with a steamy make-out session. Whoa, I'm paying attention now! The whole "friends-with-benefits falling in love" plot feels rushed, but the leads have chemistry.
Story #5 (Craving You) is about a celebrity in love with his manager. There's a whole lot of whining about how his career makes a relationship impossible, only for them to end up kissing anyway. All this drama feels like much ado about nothing. Story #6 (Not a BL) is shockingly unpleasant. An actor starts working at a BL roleplaying cafe, where he's forced into physical intimacy with a coworker. Ugh, that's so icky! While the other stories were just boring fluff, this one actually made me feel uncomfortable. It's easily my least favourite part of the whole anthology.
Nothing interesting happens with the two cram school students in Story #7 (Something Sweet). Their scenes aren't meaningful, they aren't funny, and there's zero romance or chemistry. Even the production looks cheap, like the series just stopped trying at this point. Last but not least, Story #8 (A Killer Recipe) is my favourite because it feels so different from everything else. An assassin reunites with his ex, and their scenes are exciting because I don't know what will happen next. Ooh, will they kiss and make up!? This romance deserves more episodes to do the plot justice.
Despite the edgy title, Kiss Kiss Sxx isn't actually that explicit. The romances are on the wholesome side. As for the cast, most of them are new actors who do a decent job, but not every couple is good at the kissing scenes. Out of everyone, Seol Jong Hwan (from Story #4) and Park June Mok (Story #8) are the most memorable. Both guys look comfortable with on-screen intimacy. Overall, it's hard for me to recommend Kiss Kiss Sxx. It has a few promising stories that don't get enough time to develop properly. The rest of it is forgettable filler and not worth watching.
Summary
Forgettable stories
The series jumps between eight different plots, but most of them end so fast you don't even have time to care. While a few ideas are cool, the rest of the stories just feel like forgettable filler.
Tame romances
Despite the suggestive title, most of these couples have tame romances. Story #4 begins with a steamy make-out session. Story #8 also has good chemistry, but the rest aren't on the same level.
Okay acting
The cast is mostly new faces who do an okay job, but some of the guys look awkward during the romantic scenes. Seol Jong Hwan (Story #4) and Park June Mok (Story #8) are the most memorable.
Happy ending
Every story in Kiss Kiss Sxx ends happily. All of them stop too abruptly, leaving me underwhelmed. It's frustrating because the best storylines deserved a full season to finish what they started.
Hit-or-miss artistry
The production quality is hit-or-miss. Some episodes look more polished than others. By the time you get to the story about the cram school students, it feels like the crew gave up and stopped trying.
61%
It's hard to recommend Kiss Kiss Sxx when only two out of the eight stories are actually worth your time. Unless you're looking for some quick filler, you're better off skipping this boring anthology series.

Rankings
Here are my rankings for the eight short stories in Kiss Kiss Sxx, from my favourites to my least favourites.
Story #8
This one shows the most potential, even if it suffers from the short length. A love story about an assassin and his lover is unique for the BL genre. Plus, Taerim's actor (Park June Mok) does a great job.
Story #4
This is a close second in terms of my favourites. It begins with a steamy make-out session, setting the tone for the rest of the story. While parts of the story feel rushed, I enjoy the couple's chemistry.
Story #2
A controversial fave. A lot of you won't like this one because it's so stupid, but the silliness is part of the charm. The origami-obsessed character is such a ridiculous caricature that he becomes camp.
Story #3
I don't like how Gihyeon keeps teasing and making fun of Sunhoo. As annoying as Gihyeon may be, this story isn't as bad as the others. The writing is still coherent, and the characters have personalities.
Story #1
This one just feels like nothing really happened. I'm not excited about some guy taking care of a plant. The leads barely even know each other before they kiss. This romance just doesn't work for me.
Story #5
Ugh, this one feels like much ado about nothing. The characters whine about how they can't be in a relationship, yet they still end up kissing anyway. The writing is simply uninspiring.
Story #7
Oh my god, this one is so pointless! Nothing about this couple works. Their scenes together aren't meaningful, funny, or romantic. My review is IDGAF. I don't give a fuck about these characters.
Story #6
While the other stories are just boring filler, this one actually made me uncomfortable. I didn't like how the new employee was tricked into accepting a sleazy job and forced to be physically intimate.
