Love You Teacher is a Thai BL series about two elementary school teachers who are happily dating. After a car accident, the main character is shocked by his boyfriend's psychological trauma. This grown man believes he's a seven-year-old kid. The condition isn't permanent. Sometimes, he'll snap back to normal with no memory of what happened. The protagonist must come to terms with the fact that a child has hijacked his boyfriend's mind.
The premise behind Love You Teacher is wacky in the best way possible. It's fun watching the main character switch between his two identities. Each episode is packed with silly humour and lighthearted chaos, making the series great for anyone who wants something cheerful. The lead actor gives a strong performance and has good chemistry with his co-star. While the story drags a bit at times, I'll still remember this nice and cozy BL drama fondly.

Plot

Pobmek is an elementary school teacher who's losing his passion for the job. His math lessons turn into chaos because the kids are too hyper to sit still. He doesn't have the patience to keep his class under control. The other staff don't struggle as much as he does. Jee, the new PE teacher and Pobmek's childhood friend, shows up buzzing with enthusiasm. He's excited about teaching, and Pobmek can't relate to any of it.
Teaching isn't all bad, though. Pobmek works at the same school as his boyfriend, Solar. It's a major perk! Solar is also a great job. He's popular with the students and keeps them engaged. They love having such a fun teacher in the classroom. Plus, the whole school knows they're a couple. Pobmek and Solar have been together since university, back when they were roommates. Solar was studying to become a teacher, while Pobmek was supposed to be an accounting student. Then, Pobmek fell in love with his roommate and switched careers entirely. Now, they teach at the same school. They still live together, and their relationship is going strong.
One morning, Pobmek wakes up to an empty apartment. He has a habit of sleeping in, so Solar usually heads to school without him. But this morning feels different. A phone call tells him there has been an accident. Solar was hit by a car while crossing the street. Pobmek rushes to the hospital expecting the worst. Luckily, Solar walks away with no major physical injuries. The doctor even cleared him to go home that same night.

Once they're back home, Pobmek notices something is actually wrong. His boyfriend isn't acting like himself. Solar doesn't think he's Solar anymore. Instead, Solar thinks he's a seven-year-old kid named Sun. Worst of all, he doesn't recognize Pobmek at all. Sun decides that Pobmek is the bad man who kidnapped him from his parents and starts calling him "Uncle Kidnapper." Pobmek is completely blindsided. What happened to his boyfriend in that accident!?
The next morning, Solar is back to normal. He has no memory of being Sun. He also doesn't understand what happened or why he apparently went by that name the day before. Pobmek is just relieved to have his boyfriend back, but it doesn't last. Solar falls asleep that night and wakes up as Sun again. Pobmek doesn't even get a moment to process his feelings because Sun is already running around the apartment, causing chaos. Taking care of a grown man who thinks he's a little kid is gonna be a handful!
A pattern develops. Every time Solar falls asleep, he switches identities. Sun sleeps and wakes up as Solar. Solar sleeps and wakes up as Sun. Pobmek does the math and realizes he only gets his real boyfriend for half the time. The other half, he's stuck playing babysitter for a full-grown man with the mindset of a seven-year-old. To make matters worse, the school staff notices something is off. Principal Sodchuen is getting suspicious about Solar. Now, Pobmek has to protect Solar's job and keep their situation under wraps at school.

Love You Teacher Review
Review
Drama Review Score: 8.3

Before starting Love You Teacher, I was nervous about its premise. The love interest switches minds with a seven-year-old kid!? This weird concept can go wrong in so many ways. In lesser hands, it could've turned into a confusing mess with icky power dynamics. Thankfully, this series pulls it off! It delivers a funny, whimsical, and really creative story. I've ragged on plenty of BL dramas for being generic. Love You Teacher impresses me because it's super original, taking a huge creative risk and bringing lots of fresh ideas.
The story's big gimmick is that Solar's character switches between two identities, kinda like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. During the day, he's a well-adjusted adult. The moment he falls asleep, he wakes up convinced he's a little boy. It's such a bizarre premise, but that's what makes it interesting to watch. Every time Solar transforms into Sun, he's an absolute menace. This kid runs wild, causes chaos everywhere, and turns the adults' lives upside down. It's hilarious! Love You Teacher has many lighthearted episodes that will put a big smile on your face. It's the perfect series for any BL fans in the mood for something cheerful and a little goofy.
The biggest reason to watch Love You Teacher is Solar's actor (Santa). You get to enjoy a charismatic performer shine in a role that showcases all his strengths. His smile brightens when he's playful. His eyes sharpen when he's serious. Santa lights up on screen and makes every expression captivating. His co-star (Perth) is a good partner. He's relaxed and comfortable around Santa, so their chemistry feels convincing. The supporting cast is delightful too, especially Sammy, as always. Let's hope she'll pull a Jennifer Coolidge and get her overdue moment in the spotlight!
Pobmek and Solar are couple goals! These two already begin the series as boyfriends, but the flashbacks reveal how they met and fell in love. Each episode contains a decent amount of romance, so we get sweetness alongside the funny antics. The story also handles the couple's tricky situation carefully. There's a clear line drawn between Solar the adult and Sun the child. No funny business when Sun is around! Rest assured, the physical affection only occurs at appropriate moments. Best of all, PerthSanta's chemistry is strong! Their fans will be pleased with the intimacy.
At first, I enjoyed the humour and wacky antics. After a while, I became less charmed. Love You Teacher drifts a little too deep into silly filler territory. Episode 5 is the worst offender. Pobmek and Solar should've lost their jobs over what happened. Instead, the story uses a ridiculously dumb excuse to avoid any real consequences. The series doesn't feel like it's taking place in reality. They're living in some la-la land, where no one cares that teachers are being irresponsible or breaking the rules. I quickly lose interest in the plot because… *shrugs* Hey, it doesn't really matter!
The later episodes get more serious. I liked learning about Solar's angsty childhood history. Pobmek's backstory, however, is less interesting. The main plot also felt like it wrapped up in Episode 9, leaving an hour of filler for the finale. While I'm glad there's a happy ending, it was too sunshine and rainbows for my taste. My cranky ass couldn't handle that much sappiness! Despite these minor complaints, I still enjoyed the series. I liked it a lot, actually! When I look back at Love You Teacher, I'll remember it fondly. It's a nice and cozy BL drama that puts me in a better mood.
